I would argue that you having fun with a race does not suddenly make that race good. In BG3 critical failure on a roll is really annoying, especially in skill checks, but you get plenty of inspiration points, you can get advantage with enhance ability and advantage on stealth doesn't matter that much because line of sight in Baldur's Gate 3 is the way detection works. In tabletop, when you roll for stealth, you roll for getting hidden all around, not just walking behind a dude and crouching.
