Sorry for my bad english, Hey Larian! I really love your game! Its my favorite game of all time! however there's still something that is not yet perfect in my opinion. Maybe is just me, but I do care about my origins character appearance. personally I think it'll make player immersion better to have more body options and faces, even though I really like the game, but Compared to our companions mainly "shadowheart, astarion, karlach, wyll, gale", the origin character faces looks ugly (Maybe is just me...), so why not give us more faces to choose during character creation? why not add in all our companions. NPC and entirely new faces to the character creation for all body type?
Tiefling (Body Option) It'll be great if we can have the option to have the default rough unevenness bumpy skin or just a normal human-like skin for tiefling. I want to play as a tiefling due to zariel advantage of having smiting skill without choosing to be a paladin, but the bumpy skin just look unbearable for me to even consider playing as tiefling. Personally I do think the tail and sharp fingernails for tiefling (Other than the tail passthrough cape) are okay, but perhaps giving player the freedom to choose to have them or not will be a better bet.
Immersion This is not that important, it's just a bonus in my opinion, just by having more new faces to choose for all body types are good enough, It'll be even better if some of the faces added will be brand new, meaning no NPC will have the same face as mine, I believe some players want to be unique, but instead only our companions are unique. walking around the world seeing doppelganger look just like me with different makeup and hairstyle feels slightly immersion breaking.
More freedom to choose the better? Really Love your game!

There are plenty of threads on the matter. In short, they don't care. They claim that know better what YOU want and that players are incapable of creating anything decent-looking. Their presets are the best, period.
Weird to say the least, I know, but it is what it is, our only hope is modders.

That said, mods are already there for this and more will keep coming (especially once official mod support will be out). Maybe Larian will add some more to the base game, who knows?

Source? Yeah... good luck with that. Your statement is false and incredibly cringe. The only cringe person here is you, my little fanboyish friend, because everyone and their mom knows about THAT interview and it's easy to find. Pathetic.

The game has more problems than missing faces. Larian should fix these problems first as soon as possible

More decent male elf faces. Good god, outside that single strong jawline male elf face, the others are hideous. Elves are supposed to be beautiful, not derpy or haggard looking.

I really wish they would have gone with the various slider systems so many other RPGs have used. Start from a base than then allow you to adjust various aspects to individualize the character more. Especially with bodies, two male and two female options feel weak and lame.

idk, I'm okay with the choices.
I didn't dislike it dramatically as the Faust Guy, though. (You want me to input your suggestion to Geneva Convention so Larian must abide by it?)

I already knew about the article posted by Faust-RSI, which is why I'm not even trying to convince them to add slider in the character creations, of course it'll definitely make role-playing much more fun if they really decide to add them. Asking for more preset faces would definitely still consider an improvement. I think they are afraid having slider and more options may turn some players off because it look complex when they just got into the game, personally I disagree, just adding slider in advance option tab or something may solve the problem. Btw I already use appearance mod for my playthrough, but still prefer my game unmodded, Dislike saving extra mod files in my pc.

So you chose to deliberately missinterpret Larians answers, spread lies about "Larian not caring" when they obviously do care (they had a whole interview addressing it) and that "Larian claims they know better than its players" (please direct me to this claim from Larian, my reading comprehension might be failing me). Everything is possible if you lie, I guess. And you expect an apology? Lmao.

I dislike it to the point that I won't change my negative review because there's no face sliders for customization in a 2023 game.
Beyond that, theres plenty of mods available that add more options.
The worst aspect of it though is the mercenary appearances being locked to whatever Larian came up with using the random generator.

You are absolutely right about one thing - your comprehension skills fail you. You must be 12 to not see that what's in this interview is EXACTLY the same thing I've stated here. They are just using some prettier words for marketing purposes to not harm their sales. And that's it. The most ridiculous part is "they obviously do care" - it only means that the very reason of this article, i.e. DAMAGE CONTROL and the spreading of the ILLUSION of caring has found its victims. I'm even glad we have such an obvious example in this very thread. So yeah, you owe me an apology but I don't want it anymore - not from someone like you, lol Beyond that, theres plenty of mods available that add more options. I am not sure what options you are looking for, but there are still less than 10 for a male human on the whole Nexus. This is beyond bad for 2023 RPG, but don't get me wrong - I am not blaming the modders. I blame Larian that hasn't provide them with enough tools to create more presets. And bodies... Bodies... Yeah..

The addition of the slider system would have gone a long way to improve the character creation. You would not need a ton of presets as the sliders would let you customize easily from a few baselines.

Yeah.. Relying on mods will always suck because mod makers are overwhelmingly straight men who make mods for sexy doll female characters most of the time anyways (fine for them, they put in their work to reward their horniness, but this is not a solution that works for everyone). The only way to get parity in content has to be official releases from the actual game developers.

It's okay to disagree with each other, but let's keep this thread civil. Substantive points, not insults, please.

However, unfortunately I have no faith for Larian to do something about it. Not at all. I will only be glad if they prove me wrong in the end.

Would be nice to have more face options. Especially more attractive face options. So far theres around one per race.
Personally I dont care about more body options at all. I utterly fail to see the gain.

Having normal or thin body while ALSO being tall (which is currently impossible) would provide a better scenes for romance with Karlach, for example
