While I love all the companions, the lack of non-elves/non-humans is sad. There are so many awesome opportunities for a halfling, dwarf, half orc or whatever companion. I really miss that.

If we get a Dwarf, it should be a Duergar woman, personally I perfer my Dwarven women beardless, however some people prefer beards on their dwarven women, If I ever DM a session, I'll have my players roll for it, since making the beard be a 50/50 chance is the best of both worlds.

I would so dearly love to see a Dwarven Female Bard (Like Morgalla from the novel Elfsong). Maybe something fun like a Halfling Monk and a Gnome Illusionist.

But there is already a dwarven female, even if she’s a hireling. And since almost all the warrior types are women, how about a male dwarf fighter, multiclassed to something interesting? Shield dwarf, e.g., since there is none. I once played a gold dwarf fighter/bard, an explorer searching for knowledge of Old Shanatar, in an online campaign that, interestingly enough, centered on a Mindflayer conspiracy planting tadpoles in people’s brains… it was epic.

Is there any likelihood at all that further npcs might be added in the future? In your estimated opinions?

Is there any likelihood at all that further npcs might be added in the future? In your estimated opinions? Very unlikely, I would say. Companions are integrated into the story, and considering the amount of reactivity of BG3 that would mean going through every interaction in the game and coming up with additional scenarios. That could mean work not only companions but other NPCs we interact with. Than notice that most companions have major areas in the game tied to them. So to keep it on par with the competition, that would mean making changes to the existing maps. Nothing stops them, of course, from adding something closer to Sir Lora (D:OS2) but I don't know if anyone actually wants that. As it is, BG3 already has the most robust cast of Larian RPGs. Dwarf are just too heavy to get thrown, and not sexy enough to make into the roster. There were suspicions that planned origins (Helia) were scrapped in favour of Jaheira/Halsin, but after playing the game I suspect it was more of a workload saving move. Minsc, Jaheira, Halsin (didn't try Minthara) seems like less content intensive additions. Even Karlach seems light on content compared to the other origins.

Minsc feels a bit forced being in the game. It was like they wanted more stuffed tied to the old games so lets force Minsc into the game. Personally wish they had left him out.

The question is, how far was Helia developed? Ther where datamined voicelines, but that doesn't say much. I would hope that we at one point get her as a companion. I agree about Minsc and Halsin not having much content in act 3, Jaheira has a surprising amount on the other hand. Minthara is a looted corps in my games, so can't say much. I think if not Helia, Barcus would be a great addition and representation of the smaller races, because he has content in all three acts and is awesome in act 3.

All this has inspired me to do another rerun of the original series instead. It’s been long enough. Minsc and Boo and me! And Kagain and Yeslick (who ever came up with such a strange name?). And then Korgan as crowning glory.

Was it really just a shock to me that the characters BG-1 & 2 appear in BG-3? After the events of the second part, many years have passed on Faerun. As far as I understand, more than a hundred years. Minsk in BG-3 should look something like Arnold Schwarzenegger today. It would be sad and unpleasant. Nostalgia? Great. Here's a Sarevok for you. Enough

Did you accidentally wrote in the wrong thread? Anyway, there is an explanation in canon for Minsc. He was turned into a statue for a hundred years and was freed a short while before these events.

Is it too much to ask for just a regular old dwarf with a beard down to his knees who isn't pushing any envelopes? I think this would be an interesting challenge for their writers. Just hewing traditional, for tradition's sake, I'd like to see a standard brawler who's mainly in it for the gold and the gemstones... Ideally with his preferred weapon built right into his name, like Koragain Bloodhammer or Kragain Shieldaxe... I could really go for that. Again lol ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/Gx1pztQ/AGAIN.png)

Did you accidentally wrote in the wrong thread? The previous message was about Minsk. It was by the way Is it too much to ask for just a regular old dwarf with a beard down to his knees who isn't pushing any envelopes? There are romantic lines in the game. You can choose a couple and play love. Why is there no drinking line? A dwarf could get my character drunk. We could play gwint with him. Together we would make plans to earn all the gold in the world. "Buddy, we'll build a drakkar, assemble a gang and rob Neverwinter! I'll dip my axe in the blood of these people, mwa-ha-ha!!"

Enough I will go even further, by lore, Jaheira is dead. She died in book three for the Baldur's Gate Novels.
