I gave Yenna food and then she came to the camp and I let her stay. I spoke to her twice during the long rests before I went to the lower city. After some time I went back to try and talk to Grub, her cat, and after speaking to the cat she isn't anywhere to be found. There is no quest dialogs in the journal, no one gave me anything, there's nothing to hint at her disappearance. Is this a bug or will she come back later on her own?

Same here. I read somewhere else that she can be kidnapped by Orin instead of a party member, but in my case Orrin kidnapped Lae'zel. Yenna disappeared some time after Laezel did, but now I've rescued Laezel and killed Orrin, and Yenna is still gone. I also read there's some thing where some party members think she's really Orrin's spy in your camp or something, but even though I was told at some point that Orrin may have a spy in my camp that response by my other camp members never triggered. Maybe I wasn't in camp at the right time or something. Her cat Grub is still in camp, and if I speak to animals he simply says, "Don't look at me," but no explanation of where Yenna has gone.

There is a scene you can trigger in camp where Orin kidnaps a companion, and she will pose as that companion holding Yenna hostage to trick you into telling her to slit Yenna's throat. If you fail the persuasion check to inquire more to reveal the companion is in fact Orin, Orin will slit Yenna's throat and gloat. It may be that the game bugged out and the game state advanced and assumed Orin killed Yenna as disguised as a companion but you missed the camp scene.
If Orin directly kidnaps Yenna, though, she will kill and cook Grubs and make you eat him before she reveals herself. The good outcome option, at least what worked for me, is to let her kidnap Laezel and catch her impersonating Laezel and persuade her to release Yenna. You then talk to Yenna before restig, she's traumatized, but after the rest she will become a soup seller at camp. Grub always replies "Please don't look at me." if you have animal speaking.
You can then do what you need, and Lazael won't die to Orin as long as you don't trigger progression by encountering the murder tribunal or going to her temple. If you do any of these, she will kill the kidnapped victim if you take some long rests in between. So if you kill the murder tribunal, try to have some Angelic Potions saved to give your characters that need spell slots a long rest substitute without actually resting and then go bust up Orin.
You always need to pass a dice check 25 in the dialogue to get Orin to not kill your companion during the dialogue if you didn't fulfill her request and killed Gortash before visiting her domain.
The best way to get Orin to not kidnap a companion you don't want kidnapped is to have them in your party. The pool of companions that can be kidnapped are Lazael, Halsin, Gale, and then if those three are in your party, she will default to Yenna.

Hey, I'm new to forums but I have a message for Larian or anyone really.
I have some trauma relating to child death. I just need to know how to save Yenna and Grub. I'm fine with rescuing an adult companion no problem with that. BG3 is my favorite game in probably a decade.
I'll gladly redo my entire act 3 no questions asked. There's talk that the quest is glitched. Larian have been working so hard tackling bugs I wouldn't want to appear anything but grateful. However, this pixelated child and her cat have given me some very real feelings. I would give anything for some instructions I just want to keep them safe.
If you read this, thank you

If you read this, thank you You have to have Gale, Lae'zel and Halsin in your party - that way, Orin will kidnapp Yenna. I'm afraid, the cat will die then, but if Orin kidnapps any of the others, Yenna will be killed offscreen and the cat stays. As far as I know, You can't safe both as of right now.

It's a hard one to answer because your might need to reload a good deal. Orin will take either Halsin or Lae'zel - whichever you have highest approval with. So you need to have high approval with one of the two.
I don't know if any modder has made a save editor that will allow you modify stats.
You can force the abduction by entering the sewers on the trail of the Emperor's old hideout - that will tell you if you have high enough approval. Wish I could give a better answer - I would use Larian's feedback page they might be able send you a modified save file. Edit: I was able to save both Yenna, Grub and Lae'zel but I had to pass a difficult persuasion check to save Lae'zel

Maybe you can give a rundown, how to save Yenna and the cat?

In my first playthrough, Orin kidnapped Gale and Jenna went missing and never came back. Second time around, I really wanted to save Jenna and the cat. So I brought Gale and Halsin with me at all times, leaving Lae'zel behind. Then I got the scene where "Lae'zel" claimed Jenna was the imposter and tried killing her, but I rolled a persuasion roll or something like that that made "Lae'zel" reveal herself to be Orin saying that the real Lae'zel had been taken. Then Orin left, leaving Jenna and the cat in camp. This way I had both Jenna and the cat with me and then had to rescue Lae'zel.
I did try different routes here, but every other companion (Halsin, Gale) being taken resulted in Jenna going missing. Might be a bug though. And if I kept all three in my group, Jenna was taken and the cat died.

I always forget Gale - I assume he's still stuck in that portal Don't know if this is the only way but here's what I did 1. Have high approval with the kidnap victim
2. Go to sewers before Orin reveals herself in camp, meet Orin in sewers disguised as kidnap victim
3. Agree to go after Gortash first
4. Get to temple of Bhaal
5. Persuade Orin you've already killed Gortash
6. Kill Orin / Free captive
7. Yenna becomes a happy go lucky food merchant

Orin did kidnapp Lae'zel in my playthrough, since Gale was in my party and I mostly ignored Halsin after he was creepy to me. And I did go afetr her via murder tribunal - I might not have convinced her that Gortash is dead though - does that make the difference?

I'm not sure It only have one playthrough, didn't have Gale and rarely traveled with Halsin so I can only tell you about what worked for me.
Have you tried letting the event happen and passing the persuasion test with Orin-Lae'zel?

Hm, in my playthrough Halsin got kidnapped, both the child and the cat stayed in the camp completely safe till the end of the game. Had Lae'zel, Astarion and Gale with me when the kidnapping happened, I believe.

I think her going missing is somewhat of a bug because it seems like she sometimes remain in camp and others she's just gone with no explanation.

Ok, that would explain it. I try it out next time. I planned on Halsin gettin gabducted, since I do need Gale and Lae'zel tbh. Hopefully, she stays in camp then. Teh cat is kind of sad - she does reacts to bard music though, so I play for her every evening ... how attached you can get to a pixel animal

I think I was able to get Yenna back and fix her with a couple of commands in cheat engine, by using them inside camp: {$lua} if syntaxcheck then return end [ENABLE] local object = "S_GLO_Yenna_d496d903-d3d6-4314-a324-18542de77b0f" SPAWNED_UNIT = object local player = GetHostCharacter() SetArgToString(0, object) SetArgToString(1, player) SetArgToLong(2, 1) SetArgToLong(3, 0) SetArgToLong(4, 0) SetArgToLong(5, 0) local result = ExecuteCall("AppearAt") if result ~= 1 then print("command failed") end [DISABLE] This one spawned her near my character. {$lua} if syntaxcheck then return end flag = "d30c5b6a-eada-4c8c-927d-a50de178ec29" [ENABLE] local result = SetFlagOnPlayer(flag) if result ~= 1 then print("command failed") end [DISABLE] This one set her flag to . She gave me a line about "that being scary" and now correctly selling soup. I spent few days to test - and everything seems fine. Though it seems that apart from selling soup, there is literally no use for her.

Hi, I just signed up to comment on this thread, I'm using a translator.
As someone who's had the same problem, I've scoured all the communities and figured out how to keep Yenna and their cat Grub alive: (Also, I've implemented it and successfully saved them both) 1. Include Halsin, Gale in your party and leave Lazael in the camp. 2. meet with Gotash and Listen to his warnings about shape-shifter. (If you've already met Gotash, this may be a trial-and-error situation; it's wise to revert to your save). 3. Never stop by the Elfsong. It will trigger a forced kidnapping. 4. Avoid Elfsong and descend into the sewers another way. Take a long break after entering the sewer. The fastest passage is the manhole under the Arch by the Basilisk gateway. 5. Lazael tries to kill Yenna, saying she has 'found the shapeshifter'; stop her with persuasion/threats ? Lazael turns into Orin, then leaving Yenna and the cat alive.
I had to take 4 long breaks after going into the sewers due to two events. In the end, I went back to 3 hours of saves to save Yenna and Grub, but I don't regret it. I hope this works for you as well.

I cant for the life of me get Orin to take Halsin- I take him out of my party and add Gale and Laezel and it just defaults to Yenna no matter what????? I have no idea why the game will NOT target Halsin.

I have no idea why the game will NOT target Halsin. I think it's relationship based? If you've completely ignored him or rebuffed him she won't select him
