People are saying the Emperors influence / mind control was the cause of it, but someone else claimed her condition was getting worse when the Emperor left her? Shouldn't her condition become better then? So maybe he isn't really the cause for her death?
Different play-throughs result in slightly different stories, I don't know how much of this is true for their story. In future play-throughs, I plan on paying more careful attention. Based on my memories, it did say that when he finished visiting her she was improved.
Even if he did kill her, she was involved heavily in the Knights Of The Shield which by no means is associated with anything good.
He didn't kill her. She was murdered by Bhaal's cultists at the time of your arrival to the city in Act 3. Her room is on the second floor of the Elfsong tavern right next to yours, it's an active crime scene complete with fresh blood, a cult mark, a poisoned alcohol bottle (curious) and all that. The Emperor even comments on her death - or used to on game release.
