I did a solo run and didn't become an Illithid.
[I have done a run with companions and became an Illithid, and you can join the Emperor and still be allies doing, idk, Illithid things.]
My solo ending (no companions) has three options: we stay and help the city, we leave the city, or say we are parting ways. All three lead to not staying with the Emperor
His reason for not staying with you in the city is that the city doesn't want him, you ask him what will he do, he says he will survive and that the city needs authority.

This ending broke my heart! I feel like there is a mix up here
why is his reasoning for not joining me the same thing for both? Am I reading this all wrong? "We are bonded now," the Emperor's own words. Why must we part?

Turning into an illithid in this solo run, I get the same dialogue options above, but then after, it cuts to the scene I got in my companion run where he asks to stick with him as his partner. I feel like this is a mistake? Didn't seem right.
Would much rather have this scene with my original form too or something more if you romance him. Thankfully I have many saves near the end so if they do change something, I can just reload and watch like I did with Karlach's ending.
