As it says on the tin, please let me romance astarion and karlach in the same game! I don't want to have to use mods, and I want everyone happy and healthy together. Please and thank you

Please not let Karlach be poly larian.
Now the score is 1-1, Larian surely will not implement this.

God, please no. There are already too many characters in this story with all kinds of sex issues.

I’d like her to be ok with poly - but ONLY with Astarion.
That’s my hot take.
(Btw. Calling being poly sex issues is ridiculous. Some users here could be better.)

There's a popular mod rn that lets you recruit Minthara without letting the grove be slaughtered. Whatever Larian's intentions were, people will circumvent them.

It's partially sarcasm. I went on a bit of a rant and got off I'm so tired of this "inclusiveness" for everything, it never ends. I admit I'm a gamer over 50 and when I gamed back we didn't care or have to deal with stuff like this. Now I'm for "inclusiveness" to a point. But I feel it's getting way out of hand.
And the "sarcasm" was with my mod rant. For the record I have nothing against mods, I use them when playing any Bethesda game. But I also feel that not every game needs them. And I'm glad that Larian Studios took a stand for not "supporting" the modding community with BG3.
I like the game as it is except for the fact I can't change my character's looks mid-game. I'm sure there's a mod for it. But I'm going to impatiently wait until Larian "patches" it in * very frustrated*
Correction: I guess Larian does support mods *rolls eyes*

It is fine to both want Karlach to be poly or not, and to express those preferences.
But let’s keep it civil, and definitely not allow this thread to degenerate into another general complaint about inclusiveness in the game, especially when it seems to just be an unhelpful way to say that you think your preferences and those of people like you should count, and those of others should be ignored.
Let’s focus on the pros and cons of the specific topic at hand.
"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

As I said, let’s keep it civil.
And while sailorgundam’s post could have been more diplomatically expressed, I agree that the implication that being poly is a sexual “issue” isn’t on.

I would like to draw your attention to that I've noticed this user sailorgundam a while ago, almost in every thread calling people names or judging their opinions or telling everyone what their opinion should be. This has to stop. And you as a moderator should be maintaining civil discussion, I agree, but you have no right to tell me what's on and what's not. I wasn't insulting anyone while you clearly address me personally here.

The appropriate reaction if anyone sees a problematic post is to report it using the forum functionality. You are also welcome to call out unacceptable behaviour in thread, but constructively and calmly, and by focusing on the content of what has been said rather than the individual. A heated response will just escalate and prolong the problem, which is why we ask folk to avoid that.

I wasn't insulting anyone while you clearly address me personally here. Okay, just seen this edit. And yes, as a moderator I’m afraid I do have the right to make judgement calls about when comments aren’t in line with forum expectations or rules. That includes negative comments about real life sexualities, which is not something that anyone should have to encounter on a games forum, especially given that as a public, global community it’s guaranteed that for some readers it will be their own sexuality. Arguing with moderators in thread is also a no-no. If you have any questions or challenges, contact us by private message.

That includes negative comments about real life sexualities, [...] it’s guaranteed that for some readers it will be their own sexuality. Ok, then I will just ask this once, just to be sure - you claim that on this forum, every form of sexual perversion, including pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, coprophilia, is ok, tolerable and must be respected? If yes, ok, I think I am just out of this forum then, I won't disturb you cozy community anymore. If no, who is to establish what perversion is better then another? Thank you for your answer and your time in advance.

And instead of gamers being appreciated all I have seen is entitlement and myopic thinking. I feel sorry for Larian Studios honestly, they make one of the best RPGs of all time. It's still never enough *smh* why do you think they have volunteer mods? Because you couldn't pay someone enough for what you have to deal with. LOL! I miss the pre-internet days, *sighs*

Please no. Too much time and effort has already been wasted to fulfill the fantasies of teenager and their virtual waifus/husbandos. From now on Larian should focus only on making the game better instead of adding even more useless junk.

Agreed 100% now let's specify what I consider "useless junk" More Inclusiveness, Photo Mode, Dice Skins, Harder Difficulty, and the list goes on LOL! Oh I almost forgot Political Correctness *rolls their eyes*

Thank you for your answer and your time in advance. Respectfully, those are paraphilias. A paraphilia is precisely not a sexual orientation, but a fetish. Some paraphilias are also classified as a mental illness (pedophilia). Every paraphilia is considered a common enough mishaps in the developing "love map" of the human brain. Sexualities and sexual orientations include: hetero- and homosexuality, bisexuality, asexuality. These sexualities can be found all over the animal kingdom. They are hence natural states. Polyamory has NOT been historically considered a sexual orientation (because you can be poly and of any sexual orientation). Polyamory is as much a kink as monogamy is, because it's its direct opposite. I like this definition: "Polyamory is a form of ethical, or consensual, non-monogamy that involves having romantic or sexual relationships with multiple partners at the same time. Ethical, or consensual, non-monogamy describes relationships in which all parties are aware of and consent to practice non-monogamy." The default state of most humans is monogamy, but not all of them. I know this is hard to imagine. If it helps, ask yourself: "Are male lions absolute perverts to seek the company of this many females... or are they wired this way?". If you look, there's really all sorts of configurations out in nature. It's just an evolutionary preference based on cost/investment per mate. It's a separate axis from what gender you're attracted to. But, it's also not a paraphilia (as said, those other non monogamous species out there aren't universally perverted).
