I've played an enormous--perhaps even shameful--number of hours, but this one is new to me.

I decided that I wanted to do Lae'zel's quest before taking on the goblins. So, I went to take on the gith patrol, and from there, it was only natural to find the creche.

After resolving the creche situation, I returned to the grove. I wasn't worried about the grove being locked because I had already stopped the ritual. To my complete surprise, there were no tieflings in the grove. Just the druids.

I quickly went to the goblin camp. I found Halsin in the worg pens. Defeated. Dead in his cell. Those kids must've kept throwing rocks at the poor bear until it finally stopped squealing.

I'm not sure if this is timed by a number of long rests, but I suspect it happens if you go to the Mountain Pass without first saving Halsin. I just wonder what happened to all the tieflings? Will they be in Act II? Did they survive on the road? Will I still be able to get the robes from Alfira? These important questions must be answered.

It does warn you that if you go on into the mountain pass, the game will advance, and that you should tie up any loose ends first.

As far as I'm aware, if you haven't reported Minthara's death to Halsin when you leave the initial area, the tieflings that are still in the grove at that point will disappear and never return.

Oh sure. I've played through more than once. It just surprised me that this time there was a consequence.

Ouch. I really hope I haven't lost them all on this playthrough. I'm playing a sorcerer, and I was looking forward to Alfira's robes.
