Alright let’s keep the real world gender metacommentary to a minimum, friends. We can focus on how we prefer to play the game without such real world judgments, no? (That’s a rhetorical question. This is a request, not an invitation to debate.)

I personally try to avoid that.... Off-topic, so spoilers: If you click on a user's profile it will tell you if they have been banned. There's a way to indicate that they've been banned on their posts but only some of the mods know how to do that (and I'm not one of them).
Brutality received a not-permanent-but-long-term ban for his behavior not in this particular thread, but for different behavior in completely different threads.

The salient aspect of gender is just like the bellybutton categories ... some people are "inny", some are "outy", and a very few people are right there on the threshold between.
The body models are pretty good already, but I guess Larian could add a butt-width slider to add a little more, uh ... dimension.

@zeru i see.
Good.
One topic, I do like how dragonborn are treated mostly as male for gear and such. Like my camp clothes(not the default ones), they use the male model because dragonborn have no jugs I suppose.

Dwarves have no particular accepted origin or default. In Germany, the dwarfs of the mountains are closer to peaceful stone fairies. Nonetheless, modern fantasy strongly takes from Tolkien. Who in turn took from myth. The conversion of mythology to fantasy is gradual, but not about to stop.

The discussion about the nature of fantasy is fine for the most part (if a bit off-topic for the thread), but I am once again asking everyone to avoid the real world gender discussion. It neither starts nor ends well. This shouldn't be difficult. (For latecomers confused about this post, some posts were moved for review) ________________________________________________________ Non-moderator comment: While I am skeptical of using wikipedia as a guide to the answers of the true nature of things (especially on highly controversial topics), given fantasy is not a controversial topic, I find these pages helpful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_literaturehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_fantasyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_history_of_fantasy

I usually play through as old characters from table top campaigns which depending on who I want to play can be male or female, on new characters I usually either play female or I try to make something different, and since its a newer option in fantasy games, ive been playing around with nonbinary options at the moment but I tend to create more feminine than masculine. I played a bearded female dwarf in EA but that was partially because Tolkien's world (and early DnD) the dwarven women had beards and thats been missing more often than not in fantasy genres.
I did make a transgendered female character in full release but I havent played her much, as I feel a lot of the feminine aspects I would want to have are missing. And no Im not wanting a chainmail bikini with a bulging codpiece, but theres not so many skirted options, or dresses, especially in the clothing options so it kind of nerfs the fun. Also playing as a nonbinary male bodied character its kind of annoying that the items default to a unisex/male look, aside from the Umberlee robes which stay very feminine. With the underwear I can say it makes some sense, bras are pretty much fitted so half orc barbarian Tav isnt going to easily wear shadowhearts bra, but if a male goes into a shop thats high fashion where things would have to be tailored, it would only make since he could get a dress or bra to go with the underwear. Right now the only way to feel like you are playing a male/nonbinary character that gets feminine versions of the clothes are the dragonborn because the females look like a smaller version of the men, still muscular and no feminine breasts, but still wear bras and their chest usually stays covered
On a side not, it doesnt make sense that the male companions underwear sprout a bra if equipped onto a female,

Dwarves have no particular accepted origin or default. It's not so much the origin as the earliest source. Scandinavian literature such as the Poetic and Prose Eddas for example. Snorri Sturlson's works are mediaeval though based on older sources. My original point was that the dwarfs and elves of mythology and fantasy are not equal.
