This, +1000. Lae'zel's dialogue at camp actually scolds you for even thinking about resting with a mindflayer tadpole in your head! A game that requires you to long rest like it's your personal hobby, all the while having narrative elements that try to impress upon you a sense of urgency is ludicrous. Which is it? Do you want me to have a sense of urgency and rarely long rest because I feel like I might turn into a mindflayer at any point? Or do you want me to take my leisurely time, going back to camp for sh!ts and giggles, because, you know, camping is fun. Locking narrative content behind a "paywall" of a certain number of long rests is completely bonkers. I'd like to talk to the team that came up with it, and ask them if they're all professional nappers.
