I experience it as well on PS5 , game was working perfectly fine before.

Now when any action is taken e.g firebolt is thrown there is a sound of action then after few seconds animation of character throwing it with his hand appears and few seconds after firebolt itself appears.

I tried to restart the game and it works fine there. But when I load any of my main plaithrough saves the issue appears.
It breaks game experience badly, I am in the end of act one and I would really like to be able to finish it, don't want to start new game, spend all of this time and be scared of this happening again.

I hope it gets fixed with a patch soon and my saved game works good again.

I'm having this issue too but worse since patch 3 on PC in Act 1 Underground it has completely broken my game.

All the game menu's are laggy, sometimes icons don't show up, every action is delayed, the walking animation for each character stops working entirely, Map doesn't load, sound and music flickers on and off, textures load slowly or barely load, everything is broken.

No changes to the settings fixes it or different saves.

I have a very powerful PC which could run everything on ultra without any lag prior to this patch.

Same issue here. Lags on interactions, dialogs, attacks, casting spells, saving, loading, quitting the game, opening menus/invetories. Almost everything seems to have 3-5 seconds of lag. I've tried changing graphics settings, even down to full potato mode, and nothing seems to fix the issue on my end. Before the patch the game ran smooth as butter.

Specs:
CPU - Ryzen 7 3800X
GPU - RTX 2070 SUPER
RAM - 32gb
Running the game from NVMe storage.

no lag on first save (right before finding withers)

lag seems to be at its WORST in this tunnel, and the big statues themselves seem to move every few seconds

I wouldn't assume the game would even render such a thing outside of the area, but perhaps there is some code that says items should settle in place before they fully despawn, so you don't load back into an area with something mid air

resource monitor doesn't show CPU or VRAM being capped out, so this doesn't seem like a memory leak, it feels like the game is constantly rendering the physics of this

I also destroyed those statues a while ago. While I didn't notice any issues at the time, that was days before Patch 3 came out.

Same issue here. All attacks, casting, dialogue, companions following are lagging 5-7 seconds after inputs. The game ran great before patch 3, now it is unplayable. I have also tried turning down graphical settings with and saw no noticeable improvement.

So, looks like this problem goes on just thru Act 1 locations (except of Mountain Pass, no lag there). If you can't reload the moment before destruction of the statues, then you may proceed to Mountain Pass and play it's content while Larian will fix this bug.

Happening to me post patch 3 as well frown

Maybe 2-3 seconds or so delay between either a conversation initializing or most annoyingly 2-3 seconds from the attack animation and the resulting hit/miss animation and damage/miss text.

Its really obvious with jumping, the character does the animation then stays stationary for a few seconds, then does the jump animation and moves.

The game is still playable but its quite frustrating and immersion breaking.

Hopefully gets fixed soon

(this is in an evil playthrough and i destroyed the statues in the druid cave for fun)

edit: High end windows PC 7700x CPU, 32GB ram, and 7900XT 20GB GPU running 3440x1440p @144hz.

happening to me as well...

after updating to patch 3 every move, dialouge , etc get very laggy and have delay for 1/2 second , even opening menu by ESC is delayed don't know why..

when i walk often my characters is flying instead of running like usual , graphic setting is already the same as before patch 3

i tried lowering all graphic setting yet still get same result of laggy game and unplayable ( very not comfortable of playing )

anyone know what solution for this? until now Larian haven't give any update again regarding this

very frustating

I’m not seeing the lag some describe but I have noticed

When you kill an enemy-goblin camp you can almost see their icon box move away

When starting up I get a lag in graphics loading. Camp for example can take 3-4 seconds to load

Uninstalled the game, reinstalled - no improvement. Tried some other saves - no improvement. Installed the latest drivers - no improvement. Latest hotfix did not fix it.

So frustrating because I'm near the end of the game, and it's completely unplayable.

Larian knows about this and they are still not fixing it. This is just sad at this point, the game is outright unplayable for so many people and they are just sitting on their haunches.
