If I use a blue dye, I know it's going to make the item blue
You'd think so, but I had one set of camp clothes (black and white getup I found in Act 3), where when I dyed it blue, 90% of it ended up gold except for the inner blouse on the bodice. Yep, blue dye turned the corset and pants gold, and the barely visible blouse was all that was blue. XD
Also, for the dying, it would be nice if it was more of a palette view where we could click to select a component on the "paper doll", and then click thru the dyes in our inventory to preview before committing. The current method of combining one-at-a-time is beyond tedious. (Conan Exiles has a decent dye interface if you need an example to work from:
