It's happening to me too. It will also ignore turn based mode and keep attacking people when you try to fight it. Also it immediately kills Dammon so there's no possible way to save him. Anytime I try to use sanctuary on Dammon the strange ox just ignores turn based mode and kills him anyway, along with the Harpers. I already had an issue with Dammon disappearing because I killed the strange ox at the Grove the last playthrough I did.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that during the time it takes to run from the portal to Dammon or the bridge to Dammon he is killed. There's not even enough time to go near him to save him. And then the blob ignores turn based mode so that won't work either
