While I'm grateful for all of the new content and bug fixes in the patches (not to mention how quickly they are coming out), the patch file sizes are growing out of control. Patch 3 was the largest yet at 10.5 GB, and all of the patch files in my BG3 folder now total 26.5 GB. I know the game requires a minimum of 150 GB of disk space, but it's now up to ~151 GB and consumes an extra 5+ GB while playing (at least in Act II, maybe more in Act III). I'm now at the point where I nearly cannot play the game anymore because I just don't have enough room on my 250 GB SSD.

Is there any word on some optimization coming down the line on these file sizes? Are these massive .pak files still needed? Is this game just going to keep growing and growing beyond the 150 GB required file size? Is there no end in sight?

I guess memory and RAM is my problem. Since patch 2 I’ve been getting constant crashes with 500g’s left on my SSD and 8g’s of RAM. I’ve tried everything but it still keeps crashing and its even worse after this update so it must be my PC just can’t handle the truth. Oh well… I bought a behemoth rig as a b-day gift to myself. I’ll just wait till it’s delivered

At the very least the patches should include the previous hotfixes.

You might want to keep an eye on your Larian Studios folder in AppData - mine is 5.98GB.
