There have been threads recently, and I always say the same thing; I would like to see some more classic and one or two old friends again. Most notably Aerie; Minsc is nothing without his witch. And you can return a classic companion who is also kind of a new character as well, since she obviously wouldn't be quite the same kid still recovering from abuse and trauma that she was in BG2. She'll have seen and experienced a lot more, be more confident and independent, maybe even sassy due to hanging around Imoen, less hesitant to fight back if she's bullied etc. Embraced more gnomish ideas and teachings, maybe her relationship with Jaheira evolved to being even more of a mother/daughter type thing where they might argue but obviously do have affection for each other.
That aside, maybe some more narrative focued mini-adventures showing what certain characters did before and after the main game.
Well, Aerie becoming Minsc's new witch is only one version of canon, haha. In another, she runs off with Haer'Daelis. As for a tougher, more mature version of her, we do get to see that already, in Throne of Bhaal.
As for more friends coming back....ehhhh....the ones Larian has had so far have been kind of a mixed bag. (Though I'm not upset with some of their choices as other people seem to be.) Personally, I'd love to see Jan Jansen, or a descendant of Jan Jansen, being included as a companion. Give us a shorty companion!
For DLC though, it's a long shot wish, but more than ANYTHING I hope they release some sort of creator mode that allows people to build their own adventures in the toolbox they developed for this game. It would probably take an enormous effort to do that, though.
