I had the saving error as well after trading, although the workaround using the bottom left button did work.

Still felt shaky to me though, so I started uninstalling mods.

I had the following mods installed:
- Tav's Hair Salon
- Faces of Faerun
- Horns of Faerun
- Basket Full of Equipment

Removing the mod "Basket Full of Equipment" finally solved it for me, I could trade normally again via the dialogue and save after
