Issue happens on Steam with Windows 11 (fully updated, including graphics driver updates).
My graphics card is an RTX 2070, CPU is an i7-10750H, 32 GB of memory, 1 TB 980 Pro SSD.
The issues happen with both DirectX 11 and Vulkan.
I've been experiencing significant lag, rubberbanding, freezes, clipping on stairs and hills, and delays in actions (15-30 seconds), starting just a little while ago. At first I thought it was something caused by Patch 3, but after further troubleshooting, I've found that it's being caused by the destruction physics of the three animals statues under the Emerald Grove. This is in single-player and I'm not using any mods (it's my first play-through, and I don't intend to even consider mods until I've been through the game once).
Once started, these issues happen throughout all parts of the crash site, including in other dungeons, the underdark, combat, etc.
I had destroyed two of the statues, but ran out of resources before I could destroy the third. I went to camp to do a long rest, but as I had just rescued Halsin, I opted to stop for the night as I didn't know how long the cutscenes with the party would last and it was already getting late in my evening. Upon returning, Patch 3 hit.
I did a long rest, and when I came out of camp, the game started having the issues mentioned above. The two statues I had already destroyed started to fall, but then reset after just a few frames and started to fall again. Destroying the third statue caused it to enter the loop, as well. At first I thought it was an issue with Patch 3, but after doing a little troubleshooting and starting a new character to test, I noticed there was zero lag, delay, or similar. I loaded an earlier save on my laggy character and noticed there were no issues, and from there narrowed it down to having happened between two saves. Testing everything I did between those two saves, I noted that the destruction physics for those statues (or something related to it) may be causing the issues.
What I've found is that I can repeatedly and reliably cause the issues to start by destroying those statues (one, two, or all three) and then re-entering that cave. The statues begin to collapse again, but then start to reset a few frames into the animation. Once this happens, the issues begin happening. If I do NOT destroy those statues, I can continue on without the issues happening.
Ultimately, the trigger for the lag I'm experiencing appears to be destroying the statues, and then returning to the cave where they are. They enter a glitched state of repeatedly snapping back to their crashing state, causing things to get laggy across the entire game.
