using Disguise Self makes you a new player the guards / shop owners have not seen yet... so what right?


when you reach the inn in shadowlands the back up shop girl will give you the option to ask for a FREE set of camp suppies [80 on max] and each new character can ask for this 'once off' bonus so be sure to clean the harpers out

I tried doing this with Okta and her healing gruel (action-less heal) at the grove, but after the dialogues there wasn't extra gruel in my inventory.

Hope you actually have the supply packs she gives.

Yes you do get them as long as she actually have any in the shop... on max (tactical) she had 12 last test so I did this trick 6 times

You could of course sell them back to her as a way to keep things moving but at that point it's less of a tactic and more about being a scammer imo
