Nvidia RTX 3060 Ver 537.42
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz
32.0 GB
Soundblaster X3 Ver 1.16.4.35

Since patch, I am crashing constantly. Currently I am outside Moonrise tower gate trying to do the rescue tiflings. From camp or otherwise when I try to turn the camera to move or do anything I crash. I cannot even play at this point as I just crash

I play through steam, I have verified and reverified the files.

Advice?=

Crash to desktop? PC crashing "hard" (blue screen of death/PC freezing up)?

If it's CTDs, there should be crashlog files in the BG3 installation folder. Grab a few of those, run a dxdiag and send all that to Larian via their support-link.

Other than that:
1. Run the game in "borderless window"
2. Try "Slow HDD mode" and reduce visual settings by a notch or two. Might also want to try to set an FPS cap of 60.
3. Bypass/disable the Larian-launcher
4. If your GPU is undervolted and/or overclocked, try running it at stock settings. Also try to run your CPU at stock speed if you have it OCed.
5. Check your Windows Reliability Report for critical errors on the days you experienced crashes. If you find stuff in there popping up every day as "critical errors", you might want to look into those. On my system it was both the Larian Launcher and then "Microsoft Teams Updater" that constantly popped up in there. I disabled the launcher, then uninstalled "MS Teams" and now I've been crash/CTD free for a week or so.

Here's how you disable the launcher "for good":

^ The important bit is the command-line at the very bottom. You will have to adjust the path to reflect your installation-path. Don't forget to include the quotation marks and the %command% bit at the end.

Things I also did include:
- updated my motherboard's firmware/drivers
- updated my Intel chipset drivers and all other Intel device drivers (LAN adapter, etc)
- disabled NVidia HD-Audio device in Device Manager (I'm using my onboard Realtek soundcard, so I don't need NVidia's audio-device.
- ran Windows System File checker to find/repair any missing or damaged files within my OS-installation. It did find and repair errors, BTW. Here's how you do that:

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...system-file-checker-in-microsoft-windows

... plus some more stuff like updating the BIOS, getting rid of RGB-bloatware, Samsung Magician, etc. But what did it for me (I *think*) was to disable the Larian launcher and then to throw Microsoft Teams off my PC.

Here's some more detailed info and updates I posted in another thread (multiple posts I'm afraid.. this thing was quite persistent) ... plus reports/comments from other folks who've also suffered from crashes:

How much RAM do you have?

Edit: I’m an idiot. Sorry I woke up 30 minutes ago. The guy above with the long post has good advice.
