There is a huge variety of “do X and Y happens” magic items in the game, so I was thinking about discovering good item combos that supplement each other.

For example:

Broodmother Revenge (applies poison damage to your weapon after getting healed) + Ring of Regeneration (heals you at start of turn) + Derivation Cloak (heals you when you poison enemy) + Poisoner Gloves (applies status “poisoned” after you do poison damage)

With this combo, poison damage keeps applying to your weapons, you’re poisoning your enemies and get healed off that.

Did you discover any other item combos like that?

That's a quite cool combination.

One thing I like doing in act 2 is combining blood of Lathander, coruscation ring and luminous armour on a cleric and then cast spirit guardians and walk right through the enemies.
Blood of Lathander will blind all fiends and undead and illuminates you. The other two items will apply radiating orbs to the enemies. So they will have disadvantage on their attacks and recive a stacking penalty on their attack roll. If enemies are somewhat close to each other this penalty can easiely reach -8 or higher on your first turn. This means they are almost guaranteed to fail any attack rolls, which allows you to freely walk around and hit everyone with spirit guardians without needing to disengage or having to worry about losing concentration.

Another nice thing is combining hellfire hand crossbow (inflict burning when attacking from hide or invisibility) and firestoker (bonus damage against burning targets).

Nice combos! I did use blood of lathander + coruscating ring on Shadowheart, but i never found the Luminous Armor. Act 2 will be very easy with those items.

Nice little crossbow combo as well.

I've been having Reverberation fun on my Tempest Cleric with Adamantine Splint Armour, Adamantine Shield, Gloves of Belligerent Skies, Boots of Stormy Clamour, Holy Lance Helm and Blood of Lathander

You miss me with an attack - you get Reverberation (Shield + Boots) and then take Holy damage for another stack of Reverberation (Helm)
You hit me with an attack - you get Reverberation (Armour + Boots)
I hit you with a spell (and since Call Lightning is an AoE spell, you're getting hit) - you get Reverberation (Gloves)
If you're undead and get close - you get blinded.. which means more Reverberation for you

4 stacks of Reverberation and you're flat on your back (you can resist, but thanks to the -4 penalty on your saving throw good luck with that)... oh and you take Thunder Damage which means (thanks to Gloves of Belligerent Skies) more Reverberation for you.

Just waiting for the Thunderskin Cloak - Dazes anyone who hits me and has Reverberation, oh and that should count as "Applying a condition" for my Boots
Ring of Spiteful Thunder - So I can daze you with Thunder if you have Reverberation, oh and that should count as "Applying a condition" for my Boots

Does anyone use the "heat" items? I always sell them. They seem kinda crappy to me, but maybe I'm missing a powerful, clever build of some sort.

I've been sitting on those Thermoarcanic gloves for a hot minute now lol.

I think I've found 2 items so far that apply that Heat condition. The other was the cindershoes or cinderboots or something like that I think? I can't quite remember. They came way late, like in the City, and that was a different character/savegame where I blew up the Last Light and missed Jaheira by going the total opposite route I guess lol.

But yeah I keep waiting to figure them out and not quite wanting to sell them. Maybe if I could get more gold, but the merchants also seemed sorta underwhelmed by them heheh. There are so many of those items just sitting in the big box at camp lol.

I was thinking it might be cool for that one Druid build that Aestus wrote up super early on. The fire Brand build I think it was called? The one that uses the druid spell flame blade to proc damage by like switching weapons into the off hand and whatnot to make them more striker-ish. But then the whole build was built around concentration on the flame blade so the heat applying to character seemed like it could be a little frustrating for that sort of thing. In the game where I have the gloves I thought maybe Jaheira could rock em, but the gloves/boots always conflict with other boots/gloves that invariably seem to work better in those slots somehow lol. I hadn't remembered to check any updates for that Build since the full release, cause I get happily lost in the game now that I can manage the camera more easily with that helpful mod (it's like the only one I use really, but fear of updates now cause the controller input tweaks last time happened right after I finally figured out how to set that one up hehe). Anyhow that dude had some amusing equipment themed builds and some fun write ups for the characters he made to RP them. I think I saw it here once, or maybe on reddit? That was like at least a year ago though, so I don't think some of the items existed yet last time I read the breakdown for the unique weapons.

ps. Digression... I find myself being super particular with the boots and gloves, or armor and cloaks. As opposed to say the helmets and circlets or the rings and amulets, since the actual armor/clothing pieces are visible. I think this holds back my casual experimentation with unique equipment, cause I just can't bring myself to equip something when it doesn't look quite right. Like if the boots are too chunky, or something metallic clashes with an otherwise completely cloth/leather look for the rest of the duds. I always ditch them in the box in that case hehe. Or I'll find myself wearing impractical items that are mostly useless to the build, just cause they look good. Like my Drow gal wanting to wear the poisoners robes at all times, just cause they look so Drow, even though I almost never use the poison cantrip or poison spells and have no real use for them beyond having some extra RP flare in that run. I find myself caught in these sorts of webs all the time.
