I am still experiencing this issue after patch 3. I cannot figure out what is causing this.
Here are the other things I've tried:
-Lowering the settings to low: did nothing
-Turning on slow HDD: did nothing
-Turning off dynamic crowds: did nothing
-Verifying game files: did nothing
-Clearing the level cache files: did nothing
When I initially made this post, I was playing a character in act 2. Now I'm trying to return to my character in act 3 but the lag is making the game unplayable. I've been trying to monitor the game in task manager, but as I never had to do that before I don't have anything to compare it to.
In the game's current laggy state, typically CPU usage is at 20%, memory fluctuates between 80-90%, and disk usage is around 50%. The memory is the thing that stands out the most to me, but it's not like memory leak where restarting or reloading the game fixes things. I thought this was the case at first, but now that I'm testing the game in act 3 it is laggy from the moment my save game loads up to the moment I exit.
I could accept it's a hardware issue if my game hadn't been running lag free, even in Act 3, for over a month. I did not change anything on my computer between the time I exited the game on the 21st and began experiencing severe lag on the 22nd except update Windows 10. Why am I having this issue all of the sudden? Did anyone else start getting lag after the September Windows 10 update?
