As for animals and "expecting things to come"...
Most of the time it is a bad idea to bath a cat. But sometimes it is really necessary
Our cat really didn't enjoy getting bathed, but endured it... because he knew he got rubbed dry afterwards, and it always seemed to me that over the whole bathing procedure he was only thinking of what comes next, with the "well, get over with it!" look in his eyes
And as for my opinion of dogs: Generally, I don't like them. But they like me And dogs that are kept as pure pets are most of the time those either lethargic or hyperactive "slaves", whereas dogs that have a purpose for their own life, e.g. shepherd dogs, blind dogs, therapy dogs, guard dogs, etc., are normally not in need of 5 years of psychatry. And that is mostly because the owners of those dogs tend to give the dog a proper education, and know how to keep them. Most of the "pet dog" owners don't, and that reflects of course on their dog.
That is the advantage of cats, that they normally keep their own counsel and do not depend entirely on the stupid humans. And most of the cats just are not good as a lap pet.
