The Larian Launcher appears like so. None of my save games are present. I'm unable to login to my Larian account.

Running macOS Sonoma 14.0 (23A344)
MacBook Pro 16" Apple M1 Max 64 GB

Game is launching through Steam (version 1694466342).

I have tried:

- reinstalling steam
- reinstalling the game (multiple times)
- deleting Larian Studios folder under ~/Documents/
- disabling steam cloud saves

The game launches normally, but none of my saves are available, and cloud saves are also not available.

It's probably worth mentioning I was playing this game on a windows machine prior to this.

Both my Mac and my windows machine also had the early access version installed before, although I followed the recommended instruction and uninstalled them prior to installing the final release versions.

I have the same issue. Did not have the early access installed in either place. Confirmed my login is correct on the website, but cannot seem to log in. Changed my password a couple of times to see if that helped.

I see a spinner for a fraction of a second and then no error message. I'd rather not skip this part as I'd like to resume my current game.

Same thing here, playing on PC, first time playing the game and trying to create an account. Got so frustrated I just went to Larian's website and created an account there-- it works perfectly fine on their own site, and you can log in and out there with no issue. Can even link your Steam account.

But even after doing that, STILL can't log in when starting the game. It cycles for a bit and then goes right back to the login screen. No error message or anything.

Having the same issue, on PC. I launch via Steam, which opens the Larian launch page. Play button prompts the spinner for half a second then nothing. Like it never happened. Been playing BG3 since pre-release. Never had an issue launching game from Larian launcher until today. Did a full reinstall, verified files, un-linked and re-linked Steam account to Larian account, checked drivers for updates, set up manual bypass with anti-virus. None of this fixed it. Something in Patch #3 created this problem.

Same issue. MBP M1, 32GB RAM, Ventura 13.4.1.

Previously logged into Larian launcher via GFN. No early access data ever present on this device.

I also had a failed initial installation where the launcher wouldn't appear at all. As a result, I had to validate my installation files in Steam.

Hopefully this info helps!

The game was working fine before I update my MacOS to the new Sonoma. Now, the same odd startup screen from the post appears, as well as the game, after clicking on "Play" button, always keeps stuck in 33%.

MacBook Pro M1, 16GB RAM.

Literally created an account just to come on here and say same. I'm not even sure why this just started being an issue.

I downloaded the game on my boyfriend's pc again (better pc) and tried to login to my Larian account. I cannot login! I already changed passwords to make sure I use the correct one. I can login in to the account on their website but cannot access it in the launcher.

My bf logged out on my pc (to see if that is the problem) and now I cannot login on my pc either. It is a fresh install. It worked fine a few days ago!

I have the same issue.

Cant login in larians acc through steam. Not even on cloud gaming since yesterday.

I see, that a lot of people have that issue, so I believe it’s kind of a bug, that needs urgent fixing.

Hope Larians are reading this.

Did anyone contact them?

I am having this issue as well, I had to re-install my Laptop (Windows). I attempted to login but nothing happens, a "please wait" pops up briefly but does nothing else. Creating a new account also produce the same responce within the launcher. I have found what i think is the webfront for the launcher https://launcher.larian.com/login?game=bg3 which also displays the same problem. I attempted to logout of my partners launcher to see if i could login from her MacBook but it appears that the logout function doesn't work either.

I created a support ticket but I haven't had any response. I am hoping they fix this ASAP as I can't access all my cloud saves so I can't progress my game or the game I am playing with my partner. This has been going on for some time, I am a little disappointed that there has been no communication about this as it is blocking access to peoples saved games.

Same issue. My MacBook Pro updated overnight to MacOS14 and BG3 aso updated the latest hotfix. Now I get the same problem with the launcher, and when I press play the game launches but gets stuck infinitely at 33% loading. I gather this isssue is not exclusive to Mac or Steam as Windows and GOG users reporting same. This needs to be fixed asap.

Same issue is discussed here: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=904203#Post904203

TL;DR: Serverside communication settings for the URLs between launcher and backend API is incorrect, hence no login possible. Not fixable playerside, only through Larian.

Hey -- was able to login to login via the website by intercepting requests via Charles proxy and adding the following http response headers for host larian.com port 443:

Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true
Access-Control-Allow-Origin: https://launcher.larian.com
Access-Control-Allow-Headers: Content-Type

I tried to snoop on network requests that are happening when I open the launcher via steam, but it doesn't appear like any requests are happening at all. At least none that are being picked up by Charles proxy running locally on my Mac.

I believe those are two different issues. Not only the launcher issue (probably caused by that CORS issue), but the game is not starting up. After waiting a (very) long time, I finally was able to start the game but after clicking to open the main menu, the screen freezes and the game doesn't run. Probably something going wrong with the new Sonoma.

Yeah, it is still like this for me. Tried to reinstall the game and remove every setting file etc multiple times but it does not help.

Please fix this. I can still play it on my gaming computers(handheld & desktop). But some times I want to play it on the Mac. Like for the holidays it would be nice to be able to play it with my wife on the laptop(Mac), instead of on the ROG Ally…

This also happened after upgrading to Sonoma on it's launch day.

I tried to look in the console app, and my impression there is that the WebProxy crashes.

I did get the game running when I turned off the wifi and hit play, no problem… No error.
But before that when I tried with internet on, I the game crashed once I tried to load a save. But after I fully started the game and loaded into it while offline, it also starts while connected to the internet. The launcher is still not working, and the cross saves does not work on the laptop. But it does sync via steam cloud as per usual at least.

This is my log. The lines with "feil" implies an error. These are only from within the first few seconds of starting the launcher (with internet).

I think I've found a way to get this working. The main issue seems to be that Sonoma's Webkit installation doesn't work with apps that don't have a `CFBundleDisplayName` set. Open this file:

Code
~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Baldurs\ Gate\ 3/Baldur\'s\ Gate\ 3.app/Contents/Info.plist

and change this section:

Code
<key>CFBundleDisplayName</key>
<string></string>

to something like this:

Code
<key>CFBundleDisplayName</key>
<string>BG3</string>

You'll have to re-sign the application because you've edited its contents:

Code
codesign --force --deep --sign - ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Baldurs\ Gate\ 3/Baldur\'s\ Gate\ 3.app

…and that should get the launcher working correctly again. I've now logged in and even cross saves are loading fine.

Thanks a lot rlkglkejf! That fixed it for me.

For the GOG.com release the file is usually located in /Applications (or where ever you put your gog games).

So try
Code
open /Applications/Baldur\'s\ Gate\ 3.app/Contents/Info.plist

and

Code
codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Baldur\'s\ Gate\ 3.app

I referenced this post in a bug report to GOG and Larian.
