Hello, I need some help on what I think is a bug in the Stormfist Castle cellar.
I've been into the castle one time, got kicked out. The imp stole my teleporter stones. So far so good. Now I want to get back in. Where can I get the magic word? I read somewhere else what it was but it doesn't show up as a dialogue option. I'm also supposed to get it from Zandalor. He hasn't mentioned it to me.
I'm level 27 already and I want to get back into that castle. How? Is this a bug or can I get the password somewhere?
regards, Thorstein

The only password I recall Zandalor revealing was for the castle treasure room, when you go rescue him through the sewers.
If you run into the castle, then click inside immediately after the conversation ends, the guards will nor be fast enough to stop you the second time.

Are you in the process of rescuing Zandalor now? Did you go through all the speech options?

In which dialogue option - with Zandalor? Or with the door? I need more info, please. Kiya

Ok, I'll rephrase.
"ANVAS ENROD" does not show up as an option in dialogue with the door.
I think I've done most of what I should do before I got here - sent to Jonas' Dungeon, escaped, talked to cat, talked to Rob, went through Lain's sewer access to treasure room. No Zandalor, no cut scenes, no password for the door.
Huh?
Is Zandalor somewhere else, perhaps?
regards, Thorstein

![[Linked Image]](http://kiya1.via.t-online.de/images/Div_Castlezand.jpg) Sorry to ask again, you're here? Kiya Have you encountered anything strange in your game? Crashes? Maps you explored already went to black? With which version are you playing? When did you update?

Yes. At the talking door. No Zandalor in the room down and to the left.
Bug?
Thanks for the help, btw.

Sorry, I can't help . Raze has a fix for dead NPC - but how will this help here?
You seem to have a great bug in this game, reminds me of the black map bug. Have you encountered the above mentioned problems? Kiya
Wait, I'll research, if you're lucky, Raze will turn up.

I just got the game. Started it with the latest 1.34 patch.
Only strange thing encountered so far was the fix I applied because of an inconsistency in the demon summoning quest. ( I had given the summoner, what was her name again, all she needed and saved. Then turned out the branch was a fake, and there was no way to replace it.)
Oh, and yes, a few of the quests i've solved still turn up as unsolved in the quest log.
thanks and regards, Thorstein

Dang bug!
I just hope it's fixable somehow. Annoying as hell!
But thanks for the effort anyway.

Did you follow Raze's instructions dot by dot = specially retrieving your original files again? (Fake branch)- not doing this causes grave quest problems afterwards. The file in charge for stories seems corrupted.
And which quests were unsolved?
Have you got a save BEFORE you did the fake branch swap? Kiya

I must have done something wrong in the fake branch swap fix. Thought I followed the fix test exactly, but probably not after all.
Wait a minute, now I remember. I did do one thing slightly differently. Something about talking to her one more time than I was supposed to.
DANG! that must be it. (slaps hand hard on forehead repeatedly)
Well I have some saves from before that. They're from ages ago, but will have to do. (sigh).
Thanks again for all the help. This seems like a friendly forum so far.

Read your PM, please - maybe I can help, but it will take a bit time, Barnie is probably sleeping at the moment. It's 5.29 am here. Kiya
IIRC, a file has to be replaced - but at the moment I'm too tired to think clearly, sorry.

Did you get either of the cut scenes (the one with someone saying the trap worked, or with Zandalor and the other marked one) when you entered the treasure room from the sewers? Did the door you came in get sealed?
Did you just do the fix for Corinna, or was it awhile ago? Was it before or after going to the castle?
PS talking to Corinna before replacing your original files might leave an entry in your quest log, but that is not connected story-wise to rescuing Zandalor. As long as you did restore the originals, I don't think that would be the cause, but you never know.....

Alas, I turned the dwarven village inside out, but no Rimmer. I did solve the problem in the end, by cheating however.
I took an old saved game (a game where I hadn't been to the dwarven village at all) and temporarily copied the data.000 file from that saved game to my newest saved game (after making a backup of the original data.000). It appears that the data.000 file contains the location of all NPC's and even your own location. I started up the saved game, went to Rimmers house, talked to him (he was standing in his house, a few feet from the entrance), saved the game and restored the data.000 file.
I hate 'cheating', but in this case, it seems to work.
---------------------
Is it the dialogs.000 file or the data.000 file (missing imp), Raze?

I don't think swapping data files will help, since Zandalor would be missing again when they got swapped back, and changes to the data file from completing quests would be eliminated. The problem here is the lack of cut-scene in the first place, so the game does not think Zandalor should be there for some reason. The dialog file might help, if Zandalor was there and the cut scene had played.
