I was able to duplicate what you and the other player are also experiencing.

I can progress to Act 2, but attempting to go back to an Act 1 map will give me Halsin's bag (even though I can't even add him to party yet) and then crash the game.

So basically for all 3 of us:
- Party contains a Dark Urge character
- Cannot return to Act 1 maps from Mountain Pass. Voss scene will trigger and trying to leave the morning after will crash
- Can progress to Shadowcursed Lands. Voss scene will play and progress to Act 2, but trying to return to an Act 1 map will add Halsin's backpack to inventory and then crash

Unfortunately I'm already running the new Hotfix #7 version and still experiencing this, even after re-verifying my files after a crash report.
I'd be curious to know if it fixes it for you though. Maybe I need to re-install.
