PS5 - Gauntlet of Shar - Rats don't "trigger" for the "quest". From the searches I've made, this is a PS5 exclusive bug that affects everyone with no workaround.

I can't continue playing if I want this portion of the quest done

Same here, Rats don’t spawn on PS5.

Tried reloading and redoing the whole dungeon, no luck. PS5 too.

Tsk, the games sucks on ps5, wait till you get to act 3, it'll make you put the game down for a while. I gave up on the rats quest after a few hours of finding out if i was doing anything wrong then found out it was a bug, then on the same area it won't let me pick up the book of nightsong because it clipped through the ground when i killed an enemy there, had to reload hours worth of progress to do the trials again just to get the book, then i got to act 3, the game just breaks down from there, massive stuttering, textures won't even load anymore, summons causing the game to freeze for a good s while. Terrible.

Same problem here. I heard that you can use cross-platform saving to do this quest on a PC or Mac. I have a Mac Mini M2 and the game worked fine until I turned on cross-platform sync. Since then the game crashes as soon as it launches.

having this issue myself on PS5.

My process left the rat pact open -- I didn't make one, but I didn't rule it out. I encountered them early in the Gauntlet of Shar, and killed 3 out of the 4 that try to ambush you with some alchemists fire. I just left after speaking with the lone survivor so I didn't make it worse, but I left the relationship relatively open.

But before I got to Yurgir and even knew I needed to kill the Rat Man Dark Justiciar, I ran into the broken effigy at the feet of the Shar statue.

I had to kill a rat at the top of the cragged rock because it was blocking my path to get to the bottom, and when I went down the craggy rock to get to the skull-salted base, my avatar PC looked around like something shifty was happening, but ultimately no cut-scene triggered. No flood of sleep-rats, nothing. I didn't know about the Yurgir contract yet though, so I figured I just wasn't supposed to know what this area does yet, and moved on -- like maybe it's a story point I just haven't gotten to yet, so I moved on and found Yurgir.

He kept tanking my party (partly because I skipped the grymforge because I couldn't figure out how to trigger the magma and Grym, and thus have no adamantine armor or weapons) so I looked online for some tips and found the rat guy plotline.

I can't get past Yurgir in a fight, so I need to get past him in another way, and that other way isn't triggering. I don't want to scale down my difficulty, so now i'm just stuck waiting for an update.

I'm guessing this hasn't been addressed by Larian yet? It's been driving me crazy for the last 3 hours until I found this forum post about it. I thought I was doing something wrong

The entire Yurgir / Rat quest is bugged to hell and back on PS5.

There’s also an alternate entrance to Yurgir’s area that has him attack automatically instead of initiating dialogue.

Can you guys fix this on the next patch on the 21st. I can't even progress without solving this

I don't understand why they didn't see this and fix it along side this big patch

If they don’t fix it soon I’ll sto playing too… it’s unnerving spending so much money for a game that won’t permit you to continue with the choice you want to make…

Same problem keep trying different work arounds but to no avail the cutscene obviously shows characters looking around at a swarm and even little hiss and squeak dialogue in the air but no targetable enemies. This is a major problem for this game to be getting top marks at least I could still complete cyberpunk when it first released this has halted my progress indefinitely.

yeah but see then there is the other problem here. . . I am having the rat issue. . . I switched to PC after PS5 version said my main save had been uploaded to the cloud for cross platform. . . except it's not. it's none of the saves I have made since playing on ps5 today. it takes 9000 F**king years for the cross platform to transfer. I literally play this game daily. for at least 6 hours. I have over 230 hours on it combined ps5 and steam. when I say I have encountered 6 game breaking bugs this week, I'm not being facetious. I could list them for Larian, your know if they listened to their F**king forums instead of making a dumb mirror. yeah I wanted the mirror too, great addition. You know what I want more? sanctuary to work right, La'zel to be able to join my party, and a myriad of other things that break my game.

Also according to reedit this has been happening for 30-45 days judging by posts. obviously they don't actually care.

This is also a problem on the Mac version. My game is completely stopped on the rats bug.

Unbelievable this hasn't been fixed yet.

I'm stopping playing until this bug is fixed. I spent 5 hours, and got 3 different cutscenes, but no fight.

Tried killing rats, not killing rats, hit without lethal damage... even tried THROWING these damn rats into this hole!
When I missed the rat, its attitude towards me decreased, but this did not help either.
I’m thinking of collecting these rats and making a big bunch of them, screen them and send larian to a bug report (I already sent one).

I know why it happends and why not still fixed: release on PS5 release was later, fixes go through a bunch of development and testing stages.
If only there was a debug console through which you could simply advance the quest further.
