Eh. Best to email supportbg3@larian.com in that case, getting into arguments here will do no good for anyone. The US isn't a shipping company anyway and can't be worked with in that regard - it's a country. Larian typically uses FedEX as a vendor at least in EU and which ever partner ships overseas - possibly FedEx too I wouldn't know - but it's the shipping company that handles handovers, and countries have their own different import/export laws and regulations, that aren't "to be worked with", as pleasant as that sounds in a perfect world.
Here in norway it's very common for packages to be either scanned or opened depending on however their determining factors work to decide as such. That's not on Larian, nor Norway as a country.
Behave though, before I close the thread entirely.
Thank you, not sure what the other users issue is with what I've posted, it is all correct.
There's no need to reach out to Larian Support over this, they have already communicated what is happening. The emails will only waste their time.
Of course, US the country is not responsible for any shipping. Larian has to work with the US/Canada through the shippers.
But...
When sending anything to the US/Canada, you have paperwork (declaration forms) to fill out for US/Canadian Customs to go over during their mandatory check. Nothing to do with FedEx or the like.
If these forms have even the slightest mistake, info missing , or weren't sent with the package, Customs will need to do their thing (open it, see what was trying to get snuck past, contact the shipper, work out the issues, the package will be released and back on its way/sent back/destroyed/etc).
This is most likely what happened here; Larian did not supply the proper, if any, info to Customs for this shipment and the shipment was stopped.
If I ship a laptop from Canada to the US, I need to make sure I supply them with the correct required information. If I don't work with the US (IE: Ask US customs what is needed to get this laptop across the border without issue), my laptop will make it from my hands, into the shippers hands, stopped at the border by US Customs, I will be contacted for the required info or the package will be sent back.
BTW, my tracking number says my PC CE will arrive tomorrow. I'll update on condition tomorrow afternoon, hopefully Customs wasn't too rough with it.
EDIT: Just to add so misinformation isn't spread; you can work with countries regarding what their import/export laws are. The shipper needs to do their due diligence and reach out to the proper support (US/Canadian Customs, in this case) and ask what is required to import product into the country. It doesn't need to be "a perfect world", people just need to follow procedure.
