I've been playing on "Launch" (or maybe Patch 1?).
As I've not crawled out of Act 1 (starting a gazillion different parties to find the "right" mix smile leads to slow progression :D) I saw it as giving Larian to flesh out Acts 2 and 3 and eliminate bugs. I also want to eliminate the possibility of the plotline changing on me smile
The various glitches with (and cause by) Hotfixes and Patches reported by players here made me extra wary of updating.
As I am on the verge of finally smile leavng Act 1 I'd like to ask - is it safe now?
Or to give it a week or two?

For the most part, the patches have fixed more than they've broken. By current customer support standards, that's impressive. I would also mention that I've seen some reports of the magic mirror not working with old game saves. The longer you wait to update and the further you get into the game without updating, the higher the risk you'll have no choice but to restart and lose all your progress. I would recommend updating sooner rather than later. Just bite the bullet.

As far as re-starting to find the "right" mix, I'm wondering if you've discovered the part of the story that leads to your access to re-spec your characters. Once unlocked, the only things you can't change are your race and body type. Plus, you can re-spec all of your companions to suit your needs. There might be some hesitation to alter companions due to story impact but, honestly, re-specing has no real effect on their story lines. The most import consideration with regard to companions is their personality and whether or not they get along with you.

Just my two cents. Play the way that makes you happy smile
