Hi. I created a new playthrough and will have 4 people for the first time since I bought the game. I want to multiclass but my characters need a "reason" to do it. I.e. My Tav (a rogue) will travel all act 1 looking for a cure, till eventually figure out that his only "cure" can be obtained by siding with the absolute, hence siding with Minthara/murdering the tieflings. After that he'll repent and multiclass monk.

The team is Tav, SH, Lae'zel & Minthara.

I'll make SH multiclass druid (she would be druid because she sort of repent when you kill the tiefling).

But I don't have a "reason" for Lae'zel to multiclass into something else. I was thinking on Paladin for her (she kinda see Vaalkith as a goddess) but Minthara is a paladin too, I think. And I don't want to repeat classes.

Any ideas of what can be a good multiclass (lorewise) for Lae'zel & Minthara?

Minthara could be Paladin/warlock given the Lloth is technically a demon and for laezel you could do something with monk based on the other Githyanki faction

IDK Monk is more of a Githzerai thing than that of a Githyanki thing.

Don't know how well it fits the lore, but rp wise I think there should be much more to Lae'zel than just being a fighter. And her being a fighter mage who beats the drum feels about right. But again, don't know how lore appropriate this is.

according to forgotten realms wiki it is appropriate for Githyanki to train in magic alongside martial arts and I guess they would know. My Lae'zel is a fighter wizard multi and she rocks.

I'm not too sure about Warloth/Lolth. I don't know much about D&D but it doesn't need to be a devil the one that offers a pact? (Regardless, besides roleplay, I'd love trying that multiclass, Warlocks are one of my fav classes).

And I don't really see Lae'zel as a monk.

@Staunton maybe I'll try it one day, but right now I'm looking for something that would make "sense" with the character.

I'll probably turn Lae'zel into Battle Master/Oath of devotion multiclass. And Minthara will stay one class only.

And the difference between a Fighter-Wizard and Eldritch Knight is ... ?

That makes sense but in my headcanon, origin characters belong to the subclass that first appears. So Lae'zel would be Battle Master to me. (And giving her temper, I can see her bossing around and giving orders).

But your combination, although a bit contradicted to my taste, can very well be powerful. That's the good thing about this game, all classes are strong if you know how to use them.

Lots and lots and lots of more spell power, a lot more spells one can learn, and less hitpoints and attacks.

An EK 6 / Wiz 6 for example has spellcaster level 8 and gets level 4 spells.

An EK 12 has caster level 4 and gets level 2 spells AND only a few of them.

The cost, of course, being--most notably--two attacks instead of three and three feats instead of four.

In addition to what's mentioned above, the wizard also comes with a subclass that could add potential.

My understanding is that fiend can refer to devils or demons of the abyss. Lloth is also a unique instance seeing as how she acts as a diety to dark elves as well as a demon. She more or less already has a pact with all Lloth sworn and I don’t see a reason why she couldn’t form further ones, particularly with drow women from powerful families. Laezel as a monk is very reasonable assuming you choose to go against Vlaakith

Well, if that's the case I'll make Minthara multiclass Warlock, your explanation makes sense.

Not Lae'zel will be loyal to her queen, at least at first, after discovering some things she MAY change her point of view/class. The same with SH.

This is my first playthrough with Minthara, so I don't know if she gets to 'change' her point of view.
