I just stumbled upon this neat little line of dialogue and it immediately jumped to me as a reference to the Kumamon meme, and I'm curious if it's intentional.

It's weird. You would think that as you get older you start to know more things.

Alas, that's not the case.

As you get older, you start squinting your eyes and wondering what the heck things like "kumamon memes" are.

If you google it you'll find a know your meme article about it. It's some Japanese mascot that got memed in the west for a while. It's not the most famous meme, but it's not the most obscure either.
