So I know that Larian has stated that they have no specific plans to do what Neverwinter Nights did and release a kit that allows players to create their own adventures, and frankly I'm hugely disappointed by this. One of the great things that NWN gave us was the ability to participate in nearly endless adventures using the same game because you could just find a new server and see what they had on offer. I seriously hope they end up reconsidering their stance on this, but for now we have to live with it.
From what I understand, their position is that it will be up to individual creators or studios to spend the inordinate number of hours creating custom content from the ground up to do any sort of new stories with the BG3 software. Is anyone aware of anyone doing this already? I realize the game was just released, but after many playthroughs with different classes, I'm pretty over the original story already. Sort of the drawback to super high quality custom content, I suppose. Takes forever to make, then you're done with it in a few weeks. I'd love to take my bard on new adventures!
What really sucks is that this approach is probably going to mean we end up having to pay for custom content, sort of like DLC, unlike NWN which was free.
