At the end of the game you have interacted with zero important people who are still alive and are still a nobody unless you become world domination muahaha...
Not sure what you mean. I have killed Ravengard and rescued Ravengard for instance, a lot of who is left is determined by how you played up to that point. You can end as the savior of the Githyanki with Orpheus singing your praises or a megalomaniac ruler of all. There is a lot of variety in the endings I have seen so far.
