A friend of mine, who was as excited to play BG3 as me, has entirely noped out of purchasing the game because of that one promotional material of that one Astarion and Halsin romance scene. And now he's taking a stance for not playing the game until it goes on some massive sale in a year or two.

And that is why I barely ever use Twitter these days, I much prefer Reddit but recently I noticed a lot of that attitude has seeped into Reddit as well.
