Dammon is mysteriously dead at Last Light Inn. I've tried going back to earlier saves before even reach the inn, but he's always dead in the same spot where the strange ox is supposed to be. The ox is missing, even though my companions make comments about it.

I'm guessing the ox killed him as soon as they spawned.

It's unfortunately a well-known bug since patch 3 where Dammon and the ox immediately start combat and disregard turn-based mode.

If you ARE able to find a save from before you reached the inn, a current work around is to go far enough into the area to force them to spawn and immediately fast travel out of there far enough to load a new location.

I got super lucky and Dammon dodged two hits, giving me enough time to get into the battle. The ox was fully turned into an enemy--completely unprovoked. I did a quicksave and had to save scum a few times since Dammon was first in queue and would instantly die if hit. I got lucky again and he dodged it after several saves, then I was able to get him to safety while drawing all the aggro towards Karlach.

I really hope they patch this soon. If they don't doing Karlach's quest will be incredibly difficult and unnecessarily stressful...

There priorities are elsewhere, whereever that is... but there is a mod fixing that over at nexus. Didn't test it though

Not sure it is just the Ox. I went through the basement and into the shack. When I exited he turned hostile and ran into the gloom and dropped dead. This was before the Ox did anything.

I just tried the mod and it works, Dammon is save and sound and doesn't try to kick cow buts!
