Err ... dueling does absolutely nothing if you use a shield ?!? Dueling only applies if you have a weapon in the main hand and nothing in the offhand ? It only words with pure onehanded weapons, too. If you equip a versatile weapon, it will use twohanded instead.
I don't think that's true of duelling in BG3 (and for all I know in 5e). I think you get the bonus as long as you don't have a
weapon in the off hand, but a shield is okay. At least that's how I seem to recall it working in EA. I've not checked since the full release.
