It may be possible to encounter the caravan again. It would be significantly closer to the heavy curse line but may require combat (not something you really want to do unprotected). Alternatively, go back to the closest save and make another attempt to acquire it. I only say this because, I do not assume it is safe for you to enter Moonrise. Not a common situation, but possible.
