What I'm still missing in this masterpiece of a game is being able to adventure both during daytime and night time. Would be awesome walking around Baldur's Gate during the night, with less crowds on the street, chance encounters with vampires & etc. Also out in the wilds, where you might also stumble on assorted night creatures that crawl out after sunset. Having the cycles happen whenever you go to camp and choose to let the time pass. Even cooler if there are four cycles: morning, day, evening and night. Except for act 2 of course.

Has been discussed to no end since DAY 1 of EA.

Larian games do not do Day/Night in RPGs, full stop and "deal with it". It's too complicated. Nevermind that games like 1992's Ultima VII does it pretty well.
Development time for colored hair dies and detailed cinematic sex scenes are deemed more important for the game.

-A bazillion hours of reactive cinematic dialogues with romances and sex. Its too hard but we can do it.
-A simple day/night system reactive script for NPCs. Its too hard we can't do it.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

Deal with it? You make it sound as if I complained about how ruined my life is without day/night cycles.

I am saying thats what LARIAN is telling us.
I am agreeing with you here lol. I desperately wanted day/night for this game. Larian basically tells us "deal with it, we don't do day and night in our games".
Development time for cinematic dating simulator and colored hair is the priority <sarcasm>.

I'm thinking Dragon Age 2 implementation of "Night/Day Cycle". As in it is technically different map. But yes, it's basically requires new content features, not to mention how to ties it up with existing reactivity. Meaning, more factors to count and considered.

Councellor Florrick's favorite Warlock.

Day/night might be a nice DLC. It's almost like another small game getting added on top of a huge one. Larian really needs to slow down XP progression if they add more things like that, though. It just isn't as fun when you max your Level. I think D&D Levels give you too much too fast; it would be nice if going up 11 Levels was instead going up 22 Levels with smaller incremental power creep and making it difficult to reach Level 23 without doing everything along the way to the finale.
