Yes but it's matter of degree for most women. Beards, chest hair, thick brows and the like are seen as masculine and some cis women take great pains to remove body hair - especially facial hair. It wasn't that long ago that women capable of growing a full beard were circus attractions. (and were something of a 3rd gender)
From the reviews I read it seems that Ginger Snaps did deal with menstruation . . .
Edit: to be clear I'm only explaining why werewolves don't interest me much. Of course it's possible to write a character that defies type or to subvert the archetype.
