Phalar Aluve is a Versatile and Finesse Longsword tied to Goddess Eilistraee who is well know to be described as having a dancing fighting with a bastard sword.

A Cleric of Eilistraee would certainly multiclass into Bard to reach the School of Sword and would take, at that point, the Dueling fighting style. She or he would also want to use Phalar Aluve when found in the Underdark and wield it 2-handed like the Goddess would.

But doing that will lose the Dueling fighting style bonus...

I suggest that the Dueling fighting style is changed to apply to Finesse weapon even if wore 2-handed. Since Phalar Aluve is, as far as I know, the only Finesse weapon in the game that can be held 2-handed, this would not cause a major abuse in the game and allow the people who love Eilistraee to be closer to their goddess.

There is another Longsword that is also a Finesse and Versatile weapon. My ranger was duel wielding them on my previous playthrough.

Larethian's Wrath sold by the merchant in the Githyanki Creche

It is also the same level of weapon as they both have the same gold value.

Alternatively, you could just let the player choose to use a versatile weapon one-handed so they can actually benefit from the Duelist bonus.

I disagree.

If you haven't finished the game, there is a much better "Rapier" you can use to your duelling build in Act 3.

The game already give a "Finesse" longsword, I don't think it wise to make it "Light" too.

Councellor Florrick's favorite Warlock.
