Because some ppl became Brutally harassing fanatics of BG3 … I could post some links what happened but I don't want more hate and harassment towards them.
On these forums it’s fine both to love the game or to hate it, as long as we’re happy to discuss it in a constructive and friendly way with other community members and do our best to avoid provoking unpleasant heated debates (this isn’t about what we say, but how we say it: angry and emotional posts tend to elicit equal and opposite reactions in a way that calmly stating issues and problems doesn’t). Trying to shut down opposing views, especially with rudeness or by personal attacks, isn’t okay on either side, and while it’s understandable that folk respond in kind to emotive posting it’s better if they try to de-escalate or don’t engage rather than respond in kind. I hope we can all accept that occasionally folk get frustrated and just need to blow off a little steam, and as long as we’re not doing that by insulting others that’s something we can allow each other.
As mods, we’ll intervene if we think we see things getting unpleasant here, but don’t have any control over what happens elsewhere.
And we really do need folk to report posts that they think cross the line. We don’t have time to read everything so it’s the only way to be sure we’ll see what’s going on. Plus when judgements on whether something has tipped over from lively but healthy debate can be subjective, it’s incredibly helpful to get folk’s input to ensure we’re neither being too quick to shut things down nor letting things go on too long.
