Halsin instead of Helia is a dark timeline indeed.
I totally agree, he is doubling down on things already there ( elf's and druids) - and better even in the form of awesome Jaheira-, and he is creepy as hell and has nothing going for him in act 3, but his sex stuff. Helia on the other hand would have been unique and interesting.
