I am personally not a huge fan of the camera system but I admit that part of it is because I feel like I need to walk otherwise I will just stumble on something I did not want to. Like Wompoo, I often try to hold the cursor down close to my character instead of point and click style. However, a preferred alternative for me would be the option to angle the camera down more so that I could see farther "in front" of where I am going.
Thats tactical view, IIRC the default key for that is "o" ?
Actually, I find that I can see farther away from my character when in tactical view. When in combat, I often have to switch to tactical because the range of my spells can sometimes be off the screen otherwise. Especially with the "distant spell" meta magic feat on a sorcerer. It is worse if the battlefield is not "flat". The challenge is also present when I am not in combat, in which case I do not use tactical. If you zoom in to the max the camera angles down a little to
almost give an over-the-shoulder view, but not quite. When exploring areas were the terrain is sloped up and away from the character, it feels like I can only see a short distance. It is a minor issue though, and it might be made worse by the fact that I am playing at 43:18 aspect ratio on an ultra wide. I do find that I often have to angle my camera to match my aspect ratio to "see farther". But I digress as I doubt a "walk toggle" would help with these things.
