My brother has started playing BG3 for the first time, and I've been joining as an occasional co-op partner, but we've encountered some annoyances in particular around dialogues and checks:

  • The eavesdropping feature doesn't seem to work as we would expect; sometimes it doesn't trigger at all, and other times it triggers when it's weird for it to do so (one player is in a different zone, e.g- back at camp). At the very least I'd like an option to set this to "proximity" or such so it will only kick in if I'm within a reasonable distance of whoever is talking, i.e- when we're actually grouped up (loosely). I don't mind missing the start of a conversation so much if I wasn't around to have heard it.
  • When we are asked to roll a check during dialogue, we are unable to provide bonuses to each other. It really needs to be possible either for me to provide bonuses from character(s) under my control, or for the active player to request those bonuses from me (i.e- add them as normal, but I get a chance to refuse, e.g- if it would cost a spell slot). The latter would probably be easier to implement, so the active player just adds the bonus like they would for their own character(s), but with a veto prompt for the other player which blocks the roll until it's acted upon (or times out), similar to how long resting works.
  • It would be nice if it were possible to either change the active character for a dialogue, or enable another character to take charge of a check. One possible way to implement this might be to allow any character proficient in the skill to provide a "Help" bonus, which would grant advantage to the check and also use that character's modifier for the check if it's better. This mirrors actual D&D mechanics where one player (usually with the better score) can take the lead in a conversation while another helps by giving supporting facts, looming for intimidation etc.

This last one is actually not multiplayer specific, but I think it affects multiplayer more as swapping characters is a lot harder, and reloading saves less convenient.
