Not specifically long rests, but you should rest without spending food All. The. Time
Reason is a lot of important story scenes are tied to resting and when you do not rest enough you will miss them and the game will decide what dialog options you choose during them (usually going the horny route)
So rest after each and every major or minor event. Multiple times till you do not get more scenes.
Or install a mod that notifies you that there is a new rest event pending.
