I think it's best if we start ignoring people who don't engage in good faith, like The Red Queen said.
This is the counter side to my point. There are always going to be people that will see a thread full of passionate discussion and want to see if they can stir the pot a bit. The temptation to respond in kind is just human nature but for the sake of the thread the best solution is to not reply.
