Combat in general is a painful chore in BG3. All combat sucks in the game. But yes, encounters with anything more than 5-6 enemies is completely ridiculous. Hopefully someone will make a mod through which these encounters can be resolved with the press of a keyboard key. Afterall, most of the game needs to be modded out anyway.
