Why would I want to play Wyll?
I play sorc/wiz too, why would I play Gale?
For me personally, they have interesting story but I don't vibe with their story at all. And even if I do, I'd still play my own custom character.
Unlike in DOS2, BG3 offers more unique dialogue choices that reflect my character/class so that my custom character doesn't feel same-y as my other custom characters.
So yes, I disagree with you, but I kinda understand where you came from.
