Abjuration is definitely the best school as it makes mostly invulnerable characters. Evocation is good too but the passive at level 6 really suck and with all thr broken items in the game you don't need the level 10 passive to deal ridiculous amount of damage.
That said yeah, most other wizard subclass really suck.
I tried one to take conjuration especially for the create water spell (broken wet condition)... but it is even WORSE than described here because OP didn't mention that you can only use it ONCE per rest.
This subclass need something to uograde / increase the numbers of summons. More HP, proficiency bonus added to their AC, Multi attack at level 10... just throwing that but if Larian wants to create variations in such subclass it should really offer interresting bonuses...
