Astarion enriched the game for me several times.
Not just with his sometimes questionable but wonderfully cynical comments. The hidden little child inside him makes him so lovable again.
He grows over the story, but so many left him behind cause he is so evil in the beginning, but there are reasons for that.
I was particularly touched by his romance from the end of the second act. I cried ... Not many can do that.
I love broken characters and Astarion nails it perfectly.
(And no, i was not a twilight Fan) he is my first Vampire
