I want to mention some issues I had when attacking moonrise tower before patch 4 came, not sure if something changed.
It was not a game blocking bug, but I felt this was a bit disturbing.

What I did before:
- Enter shadow cursed lands from the creche area.
- Go with goblin/bugbear group to moonrise tower with spider guide, killing harper group along the way.
- There the goblins get killed and I get the lantern.
- Save all harpers from shadows near last light inn.
- Go to last light inn, save Isobel from Marcus
- Go to Shar gauntlet, free nightsong
- Go moonrise tower, attack with harpers, I killed all hostile NPC, Jaheira and some harpers survive

Now come the issues I found disturbing:
- When the enemies in the main hall are dead, the surviving harpers start to walk around. They meet other NPC (goblins and cultists) and start to fight. These NPC are neutral to my party, I have to attack them to join the combat. If you do not pay attention after surviving the huge battle (you are probably half dead by now), the surviving harpers may get killed around you while you stand there and just watch. I made a short rest, started turn based mode to stop time and attacked the cultists. I kiled them all without more harpers or party members dying.
- The bugbear from the group that walked with me to moonrise tower still stands near the stairs of the throne room and talks to me as if nothing has happened.

suggestions:
- When I attack moonrise tower together with the harpers it should be clear that I am an enemy of the cultists. Every cultist/goblin/other "monster race" in the tower should be hostile to me.
The battle to attack moonrise tower was the hardest battle in the game so far ( I am in act 3 now, all Kethric battles were a cakewalk compared to this.)
You could remove all NPC from the main floor of the tower that are not part of the battle to charge the tower. Maybe they fled or they moved away stuff they wanted to use in their attack on baldurs gate. Or you make this hard battle even harder, keep all NPC there and make them hostile to the player. But it makes no sense that cultists in the tower are neutral to you after you attack the tower with the harpers.

pro tip if you don´t mind meta gaming:
If you want to attack the tower, stop before the final part of Shars gauntlet and kill all cultists in the tower and the gauntlet. This is easy if you engage them alone or in small groups. The commander should be easy if you face him alone and attack him firts. Leave the main floor for last. Stealth hit and run tactics with a rogue makes this very easy. Not sure who would be your enemy in the harper charge if you kill the commander before you charge the tower.
